Maltese Respite ServiceS
Maltese Respite Services at La Valette is a community respite service that provides both centre-based and flexible care.
Respite care supports you and your carer by giving you both a break for a short period of time. It can help give you and your carer the time and space to do things independently.
The type of service available to you depends on your eligibility, needs and the services available in your area.
Community Respite
Community respite is provided under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP). It’s best suited if you need occasional carer support for some day-to-day tasks or activities.
Centre-based respite
Centre-based respite care is an excellent way to stay connected and meet other people in your community, supporting everyone’s health and wellbeing. There are a great range of activities that can take place at La Valette and out in the community, including meals, entertainment, social outings, and much more. Transport to and from the centre, as well as for outings is also available.
Flexible respite
Flexible respite is designed to provide help and support while the carer can take a short break.
